purport - 1.  to have or present the often false appearance of being or intending;  profess.  2.  to have the intention of doing;  purpose. 

rally - 1.  to call together for a common purpose;  assemble  2.  to reassemble and restore to order  3.  to rouse or revive from inactivity or decline  4.  to come together for a common purpose  5.  to tease good-humoredly;  banter.

rationalize - 1.  to make rational.  2.  to interpret from a rational standpoint.  3.  to devise self-satisfying but incorrect reasons for (one's behavior). 

reconsider - to consider again, especially with intent to alter or modify a previous decision.  2.  to take up for reconsideration as a matter previously acted on by a legislature. 

recount - 1.  to narrate the facts or particulars of.  2. to enumerate.

unveil - 1.  to remove a veil or covering from;  2.  to disclose;  reveal.

vindicate - 1.  to clear of accusation, blame, suspicion, or doubt with supporting arguments or proof.  2.  to provide justification or support for.  3.  to justify or prove the worth of, especially in light of later developments.  4.  to defend, maintain, or insist on the recognition of (one's rights, for example)  5.  to exact revenge for;  avenge. 

warrant - 1.  to guarantee or attest to the quality, accuracy, or condition of.  2.  to guarantee or attest to the character or reliability of;  vouch for.  3.  to guarantee ( a product)  4.  to guarantee ( a purchaser) indemnification against damage or loss.
