In 2003, Solon's performance in the Cuyahoga County Library Contest was outstanding. Of 19 schools who were published, Solon had eight student winners, the most of any school.

Since five students were published in the Creative Communication Anthology, A Celebration of Young Poets, a copy of this 2003 poetry anthology was awarded to the school.
