Syntactical Activity

The following paragraph, written by Patricia Chu, contains at least 9 syntactical structures.  Can you name them all?  Colored words in the paragraph correspond to the colored answers below.

Parataxis, parallelism, parenthesis, and polyptoton, are just a few examples of syntactical structures, word and sentence formations used for syntax, that are studied in AP English.  Why are syntactical structures a part of the curriculum?  Why are they important to learn?  The obvious answer is for students' success on the AP exam;  however, students are not truly successful unless they succeed in learning how to successfully incorporate these structures into their own writing.  To conquer these terms, terms which often cause a shudder, students must practice constantly, for constant practice brings perfection.  Intimidate and confuse, syntactical structures may;  however, after reading this paragraph, students should dominate and comprehend syntactical structures fearlessly and zealously
