After reading AP Essays and having a conversation with Ms. Fitch, I determined you may benefit from being able to identify various types of imagery. Here is the list from Ms. Fitch's text (I think it's Sound and Sense.).
Imagery - "the representation through language of sense experience".
visual imagery - something which can be "seen in the mind's
eye".
auditory imagery - a sound
olfactory imagery - a smell
gustatory imagery - a taste
tactile imagery - a touch ("such as hardness, softness,
wetness, or heat and cold")
organic imagery - "an internal sensation, such as hunger,
thirst, fatigue, or nausea"
kinesthetic imagery - "movement or tension in the muscles or joints"
