"Alright, this may be a bit off topic, but it might help. Senior year is
very stressful, and as you finish your senior year, you will most likely
be experiencing a variety of emotions. It happens to everyone, even your
best friends, and try to bear that in mind if you feel as though your
friendships are "strained" or if your parents are "really annoying" at the
end of the senior year. That will all pretty well go away after a few
weeks at school, and you will realize that no one will replace home, even
though I firmly believe in moving on and out and exploring the world.
Secondly, when you go to college, learn how to relax. You will be eating,
sleeping and studying all in a very small space. Learn how to remove
yourself from work, or you will have a breakdown.
Lastly, you will learn the first weekend that you return home to visit,
that when you come home, it will never be the same. Even though you won't
believe it, the world in Solon will move on without you, people and events
will change and happen, and nothing will ever be as you left it. This is
not a bad thing--when you come back you will see your friends and parents
in a different light and you will be able to explore what was once
familiar with different eyes. But be prepared, you can never ever expect
to come back on a break and have everything be as it was when you
left--mostly because you will be different. And that is good. That is
called growing up (although you could argue some people revert further
back to childhood, but that is a separate issue entirely.)"
