
| Born in Lorain, Ohio in 1931, Morrison graduated from Lorain
High School in 1949. She attended Howard University, graduating with
an English degree in 1953 and then attended Cornell University, graduating
with a Masters in English in 1955. She is currently a professor at
Princeton.
In 1988, Morrison was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for her novel, Beloved. In 1993, she was awarded a Nobel Prize for her collective work. |
